Record-breaking snow: Report Jan 2018
Snow report January 2018
How much snow is there in the Three Valleys?
You’ve probably seen the pictures and snow reports all over social media: we’ve been well and truly blessed by the snow gods so far this winter, with a base of over 3 metres as of January 9th 2018, at the highest points of St Martin de Belleville. Snow depths on the lower slopes amounts to 1.5m. See report from On The Snow.
In late November the locals started saying it was the best start to the season in 6 years, but as the days passed and the snow just kept falling, it quickly became the snowiest December since 2008. However Snow-Forecast is claiming that this La Nina year has resulted in the ‘snowiest start to the season in 21 years’. Read their article here.
Certainly, we’ve been delighted with the amounts of snow that have fallen in December 2017 and with the eipc snowstorms of January 2018! The Ski Talini team has been overjoyed to experience St Martin de Belleville in full ‘winter wonderland’ mode, and we had a beautifully White Christmas!
Talini mascot labrador Balloo has also loved having plenty of snowy walks around the tracks in the Belleville valley…
